Little about your therapist: Like any relationship, a therapeutic relationship is built on trust, commitment and mutual respect. So, I provide a safe space for you to explore any feelings you have or issues you face, from experiences past or present, in an empathic and confidential relationship that we will build together. Talking therapy works and my approach is informal and relaxed. There is no one-size-fits-all psychotherapy because your background, your hopes and fears are unique. That means I will work collaboratively and flexibly, with you. I was born on the island and trained as a nurse, initially specialising in palliative care. My job was to optimise the quality of life for people with long-term, serious and complex illnesses. I learned to listen attentively as we discussed their life’s journey. It taught me how calming and healing it is for people to unburden themselves so I went to London and took a Master’s degree in Psychology. From there, I worked in a community mental health service in Berkshire before returning to the Isle of Man. Even before Coronavirus turned our lives upside down, modern society was fast-paced and could be challenging on a personal level and professionally. Day-to-day stresses can get you down, disrupt your relationships and cause upset. I invite you to be good to yourself, devote some time to you and let me help you try to find peace from those stresses. Let me help you bring order out of chaos.
